More about SEVA 2020
On April 19, 2020, SECC hosted the first ever “SEVA Award Night Celebration – A Virtual Experience.” The SEVA Awards are the premiere event in Sacramento to showcase student educational videos to the Sacramento community. The culminating “Academy Awards of Sacramento” event was held as a virtual experience that represented a year-long media production effort for over 1,200 students from over 50 schools throughout the Sacramento region. Statuettes were awarded to the top educational videos submitted in five categories (Creative Expression, Documentary, Instructional, Public Service Announcements, and School News) spread across all grade levels – from Kindergarten to College. All videos entered in the contest were celebrated and each award recipient was given the opportunity to make an acceptance speech on the new virtual platform.
