About SCUSD: Sacramento City Unified School District is one of the oldest K-12 districts in the western United States (established in 1854). SCUSD serves 42,400 students on 76 campuses spanning 70 square miles. SCUSD is home to a California Distinguished School (West Campus High School), a Public Waldorf High School (George Washington Carver), and an innovative Hmong language immersion program (Susan B. Anthony Elementary School). District alumni include US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, renowned scholar Dr. Cornel West, US Congressional Representative Xavier Becerra and best-selling author Joan Didion.
