The district has 67 schools (42 elementary schools, 9 middle schools, 9 high schools, 4 alternative schools including one virtual online K-8 program, 1 charter school, 1 special education school, 1 adult education school, and offers preschool programs at 15 elementary and 1 high school).
The district covers 320 square miles within the City of Elk Grove, the City of Sacramento, the City of Rancho Cordova, and the unincorporated area of Sacramento County.
