Program Idea: For my Video 2 class, we were tasked with creating a documentary for the CSPAN StudentCam competition, which asked what was the most important issue for Congress and the new president to address in 2017. My groupmate and I settled on conversion therapy for minors, as we believe it should not be legal.
Message: My aim with the documentary was to spread awareness on the truth of conversion therapy, and how it is ineffective according to reputable experts. I also wanted to educate people on how conversion therapy and rejection cause LGBT youth psychological harm and put them at a higher risk for depression.
