
SEVAFest is a free opportunity for local media students put their media skills to the test. Students are given exclusive access to exciting, real-life events where they are able to experience life as a real journalist. Go on location to real events in the community and meet with a team of fellow SEVA students, families, teachers, and professional mentors to capture a video in one day. SEVAFest: California Capital Air Show 2021

SEVA teachers, students and families joined SECC for the first ever SEVAFest at the California Capital Air Show! At the event, they were able to create a story or highlight reel sparked from their own interests. Students interviewed pilots, toured planes, and had a great view of the performances. Participants from different schools worked together to problem solve, share leads, and explore the show. Watch student-produced videos from the event.

SEVA teachers, students and families joined SECC to capture the stories of Sacramento Republic FC at Heart Health Park! Participants were given exclusive access to the game on Sunday, October 17 where Republic faced off against Tacoma Defiance FC. Students received media credentials, a press conference with team General Manager, Todd Dunivant and stadium access to create their videos. Student crews then created a news report, game highlight video or a sizzle reel for the chance to have their work shown on the big screen at a future Sacramento Republic FC game.
