
SEVAFest is a free opportunity for local media students put their media skills to the test. Students are given exclusive access to exciting, real-life events where they are able to experience life as a real journalist. Go on location to real events in the community and meet with a team of fellow SEVA students, families, teachers, and professional mentors to capture a video in one day. SEVA teachers, students and families joined SECC to capture the stories of Sacramento Republic FC at Heart Health Park! Participants consisting of two students and one teacher/chaperone were given exclusive student media access to record and interview around the park. Each production team shared their 90 second story from the day to be reviewed by the Sac Republic FC Communications team. Completed videos from this SEVAFest will also be featured in a special episode of SEVA TV.

SEVA teachers, students and families joined SECC at the Capital Airshow 2022 at Mather Airport! Students toured the event with their team and captured stories across the airshow. Student production teams will share their completed video with the Capital Airshow communications team and will be featured in a special episode of SEVA TV.

How much does the event cost?
All SEVAFest events are free to attend for participants and their chaperone.
What should I bring to the event?
Each student or production team will need to bring their own school-provided or personal production equipment to the event. Your kit should include camera, batteries, microphone, headphones and tripod. SECC does not provide equipment at events.
What should I wear to the event?
Please wear a SEVA shirt so that you are easily recognized at the event.
Who will be responsible for my student at the event?
Each student will need a chaperone or teacher to be responsible for them during the entire event. Please make sure to have a plan before the start of the event. SECC and SEVAFest partners are not responsible for students at the event.
Do I need to sign a release form?
Each event attendee needs to sign a video/photo release form so that SECC as well as fellow participants can document the event.
