SEVA 2016 – Instructional 4-6 Winner – Ways to Save Water
SEVA Award
Instructional: 4-6
Program Title: Ways to Save Water
Producers: Marissa Diab, Taylor Strait and Alexander Reyes
School: Oak Hill Elementary School
Target Audience: All Californians participating or not in the California drought relief efforts.
Message: For our video we wanted an inspiring topic that would catch someone’s attention. We were all throwing around some topics, but none of them were really cool or eye catching. We started saying weird ideas, but when Alex started working on his project about the California Drought, the idea revealed itself. Marissa’s almost yelled when she said it, “We should do a video on the California Drought. We already have the information.” Then Taylor said “Hey! We should do ways to save water!” After we started researching a little more, Mr. Bisho, our advisor, showed us a website with a “Drought Champion” contest. We decided to use that concept in our video on top of examples and explanations on how to save water.
