This year, the Defining 2021 Recognition will celebrate students who have made an extra effort to include those people who are most important to them in their video process. This includes entries that were completed outside of the classroom as a collaborative between students and their families, friends or mentors. Read more about the 2022 SEVA Awards Celebration.
The SECC team connected Sacramento Metropolitan Cable Television Commissioners with SEVA Studios in the district they represent to record live interviews with honorees. Sarah Pollo (Representing Eric Guerra and District 6), Council Member YK Chalamcherla (Representing Folsom City Council), Matt Hedges (Representing Sue Frost and District 4), and Supervisor Don Nottoli (Representing District 5) spent an afternoon inside local schools talking with teachers and students. Over the course of 4 days, commissioners and teachers connected with students and their mentors to honor the 27 videos recognized.
I LOVED touring Inderkum High's facilities, meeting some of the students learning and mastering video production skills and filming in studio with the amazing @secceducationaltv crew.
