The Biotech Academy students (Sukhman Kaur, Amanpreet Sandhu, Aishleen Sangha, and Parneet Kaur) at Sheldon High School placed 1st at the Sacramento Regional STEM Fair in the Biology and Health Science category. They have been conducting a 9-month research project on curing plant cancer with natural remedies while being mentored by Biotech alumni, Glory Bui, and UC Davis PhD candidate, Sydney Wyatt. Additionally, the team also won the Regeneron Biomedical Science Award and NASA Earth Systems Science awards. This is the first time Sheldon HS has won this category. The team will move onto the State Finals held Tuesday, April 12th.
