Sylvan Middle School opens brand new doors to students Thursday
After 16 months of construction, the all-new Sylvan Middle School campus includes a revamped SEVA Studio Lab where students go each day to create a entire school news broadcast from start to finish. Media teacher Jen Cox shared, “The new studio at Sylvan is amazing! We are so excited to create with this new tech.”
The SEVA Studio Labs are a joint project with SECC, the Sacramento Metropolitan Cable Television Commission and school districts to create and encourage video production in schools with training opportunities and equipment assistance. Through the studio, Sylvan students have the opportunity to create stories that matter to them and become connected to their school and community like never before.
