Carroll Elementary students connected with California State Park Ranger Phil McDonald at the Columbia Historic State Park to learn about the gold rush. Connecting to the California State Parks PORTS program with the BESTNet infrastructure, students were able to experience a field trip without leaving their classroom.
PORTS is a FREE distance learning program that uses the power of interactive videoconferencing to help K-12 schools teach common core state standards in the context of California State Parks.
