Share Your Story from Home
You’re home for a couple of weeks, let’s take the time to Share Your Story and exercise your video production skills.
+ You are living history – create a short documentary about the Coronavirus and how you and your family are dealing with it.
+ Research and produce a PSA about how to stay safe from germs.
+ Teach viewers how to make a food item that your family enjoys.
+ Research a science experiment and teach viewers about your findings.
+ Teach a math problem and how to solve it.
+ Write and share a creative short story with drawings or animation.
Have a phone with a camera? Then you’re set to record and Share Your Story. Get creative by using books to hold your camera in place and start shooting. You can also use a webcam, or anything that records video.
Most phones have an app that can be downloaded to edit your video. If you have a computer and internet access, you can use WeVideo to edit your video. There’s a free version on their website: wevideo.com
Copyright Cleared Resources
As with any video, you need to use copyright cleared resources (video, images, music) so that your story can be shared on cable and online. For music, Incompetech is available for free as long as you credit them in the video.
Send a link to your video or post to firstname.lastname@example.org to Share Your Story with the whole Sacramento community. We can’t wait to see your story and share it on SECC’s website, social media and the educational cable channels! Use the hashtag #sevaawards and #secctvshareyourstory when you post.
Be sure to check out the new SEVA Award Celebration for this year.
