This October, schools across the district are celebrating the second annual SCUSD Green Week. Throughout the week schools are provided sustainability focused lessons, project ideas and activities that were created in partnership with local non-profits and community organizations. Schools can choose to participate in the whole week, one day, or just one activity, and are encouraged to take this opportunity to spend time with students discussing sustainability topics and exploring ways students can make a difference at school, at home and in their communities. Green Week is part of the SCUSD Sustainable Schools Initiative with the mission of improving our students’ understanding of the world around them and helping them be better equipped to succeed after graduation.
Help us transform our schools into healthy, safe, and productive learning environments This Saturday, we will be celebrating Green Apple Day of Service. Get inspired by events scheduled across the globe or register your own event by visiting www.greenapple.org.
